We are Ashley and Phillip Colhouer and 13:13 is the company that we created in order to blend our creative and professional lives.

We’re a friendly, laid-back team with a style we like to call
“Boutique Wedding Photography” which is all about capturing fun and romantic moments in a fresh and exciting way. We believe the best moments are unscripted, this is what we try to anticipate and capture.

To dig a little deeper, my passion for photography originally led me to shoot in the fashion industry, while Phillip continued his studies of design. We shot our first wedding as a favor for a friend and the rest is history.

We absolutely love what we do and couldn’t be more grateful that we’ve been blessed to be able to make a living doing so.

On a more personal note…

Why 13:13 you ask? 1 Corinthians 13 was the Bible verse read at our wedding and has pretty much become the philosophy in which we strive to live our lives. We have been together for over 6 years and happily married for over 2. We live with our 5 adorable little Shih Tzu’s (Phoebe, Atari, Kabuki, Yentl, and Lotus) and just welcomed the arrival of our beautiful little girl Nylin Lilly Colhouer,
July 20th 2008...talk about a blessing!

I feel like this post should begin with “Cathy and I go waaaay back” but in actuality, we only met about 6 months ago. I’ve had the pleasure of lunch-dates, engagement sessions, boudoir sessions, and many many phone calls with this woman! When it came time for the wedding day I felt like I was photographing a wedding for a friend not just a client. That is truly one of the best things about my job, relationships that grow into genuine friendships. We’ve been fortunate enough that most of them (if not all) have become that way.
Okay okay, I’ll get on with it…
Cathy and Chris were married at the Ocean Manor Resort in Fort Lauderdale. The ceremony was held on the balcony outside the penthouse suite with only the ocean and sky as their backdrop. Breathtaking! Their reception was at the Josephine Opera Center .
They had quite the paparazzi with over 10 video cameras and Phillip and I shooting photography. A few months ago Cathy sent a submission to TLC in hopes of being picked to be a part of their new wedding series called Four Weddings – and made it on the show!  It was definitely tricky dodging the video cameras but it was interesting to see it all unfold too. I can’t wait to see the episode when it airs!
Phillip and I met some very talented people that night as well. Guillermo and his crew from Free Mind Studios and Shannon Powell from Liquid DJ’s! If you haven’t already booked a dj or video for your wedding I definitely give these guys 2 thumbs up!

After a few portraits we went to a little Irish Pub on the beach so the bridal party could do a celebratory Irish Car Bomb!

John Amunét - Amazing images once more! You have it so much better with weather than us here in Finland.. Gotta survive through snow and darkness. And trust me, weddings are WAY harder to shoot when you've only got 4 hours of light :) I love the shot from the ceremony which has 90% sky in the frame. Would make a fantastic print!

Cathy Murray - All I can say is these are INCREDIBLE!!!!! I told you that I would rushto the first computer I could in Costa Rica to see if you posted and here they are!!! We have 2 days left in paradise and you have given us a great gift! I feel so lucky to have found not juts an amazing photographer but a great friend...girlfriend we are on for lunch when I get back!
