Oh man, where to even begin with this amazing garden wedding held at Vizcaya in Coral Gables? I guess let’s start with the amazing couple themselves, Andrea and Julien. Both live in New York, although Julien is originally from Paris, France while Andrea hales from these parts. (That sentence alone already puts them at the cool table). When we sat down to chat with them during their engagement session Andrea told us the inspiration for their wedding was derived from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s french children’s story Le Petit Prince. Everything, from the color palette of the wedding to their wedding cake, had the perfect amount subtle thematic influence sprinkled throughout.
The day started in the penthouse of the Raleigh hotel on Miami Beach (ooh la la, right!?) to capture a few getting ready moments with Andrea, while Phillip did the same with Julien at the Shelborne South Beach before our rendezvous at Vizcaya for their “first look”. We always give a little direction and coaching leading up to the first look, like taking your time, coordinating which shoulder to tap, and most importantly to enjoy the moment and forget about the cameras. I think Andrea only heard the “enjoy the moment” part, b/c the second she saw Julien standing there waiting for her, she took off in a full sprint towards him :) It was perfectly cute, unscripted and 100% Andrea + Julien.
The rest of their wedding truly felt magical and the romantic surroundings of Vizcaya’s gardens coupled with March’s super-sized moon only enhanced the fairy-tale qualities of the night.
Andrea and Julien the two of you are filled with light and life and we wish you guys all the magical, fairy-tale happiness that life has to offer. “On ne voit bien qu’avec le cœur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.” (or something like that)
