I have tons of blogging to do but this one definitely couldn’t go unmentioned. My birthday was a few weeks ago and let me just say that I’m one lucky girl! :)
I came home from running errands to a BEAUTIFUL flower arrangement (from mom & dad) sitting at my door and a delicious fruit arrangement from Irene and Fern (one of our clients!) as well as many cards and sweet messages via Facebook and email. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that contributed to making my birthday so special!

Belated Post {Birthday!}
- Phillip, you should've worn your purple leggings to hide those hairy legs!
- happy belated birthday - hoping all your days are as great as that one!
- :0)
- Your legs sure are hairy
shari + william {engaged!}
Shari and William were such troopers to schedule their engagement session with me at 8:30am! I really love the light in the morning and although I understand why, it’s not often that people prefer a morning shoot over late afternoon. Here’s few of my favorites from their session:
Look at those dimples!

- Beautiful couple! Beautiful pictures! Great use of the environment for framing the shots!
- Love them! =)
- Love them! Shari you look beautiful and I agree, the light is perfection!
- so gorgeous!!! i love morning light. amazing job ashley!
- I LOVE THEM!!
- Absolutely love these!
- ouuh...I like these! xoxo
chris + cathy {married!}
I feel like this post should begin with “Cathy and I go waaaay back” but in actuality, we only met about 6 months ago. I’ve had the pleasure of lunch-dates, engagement sessions, boudoir sessions, and many many phone calls with this woman! When it came time for the wedding day I felt like I was photographing a wedding for a friend not just a client. That is truly one of the best things about my job, relationships that grow into genuine friendships. We’ve been fortunate enough that most of them (if not all) have become that way.
Okay okay, I’ll get on with it…
Cathy and Chris were married at the Ocean Manor Resort in Fort Lauderdale. The ceremony was held on the balcony outside the penthouse suite with only the ocean and sky as their backdrop. Breathtaking! Their reception was at the Josephine Opera Center .
They had quite the paparazzi with over 10 video cameras and Phillip and I shooting photography. A few months ago Cathy sent a submission to TLC in hopes of being picked to be a part of their new wedding series called Four Weddings – and made it on the show! It was definitely tricky dodging the video cameras but it was interesting to see it all unfold too. I can’t wait to see the episode when it airs!
Phillip and I met some very talented people that night as well. Guillermo and his crew from Free Mind Studios and Shannon Powell from Liquid DJ’s! If you haven’t already booked a dj or video for your wedding I definitely give these guys 2 thumbs up!
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.

Credit goes to Guillermo for this one. ;)

After a few portraits we went to a little Irish Pub on the beach so the bridal party could do a celebratory Irish Car Bomb!

** Remember to send in your submissions for our Wedding Photography Giveaway!

- Absolutely stunning!!! You captured every beautiful moment :)
- Amazing images once more! You have it so much better with weather than us here in Finland.. Gotta survive through snow and darkness. And trust me, weddings are WAY harder to shoot when you've only got 4 hours of light :) I love the shot from the ceremony which has 90% sky in the frame. Would make a fantastic print!
- All I can say is these are INCREDIBLE!!!!! I told you that I would rushto the first computer I could in Costa Rica to see if you posted and here they are!!! We have 2 days left in paradise and you have given us a great gift! I feel so lucky to have found not juts an amazing photographer but a great friend...girlfriend we are on for lunch when I get back!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Phillip and Nylin went out to “get bagels” this morning and surprised me with these beautiful flowers!

I made some super yummy red velvet cupcakes. And I even made the icing!
How stinkin’ cute is she??

This is what happens when we let daddy dress her… Just the outfit, she actually loves to wear her knee pads everywhere. I usually have to wait until she’s napping to take pry them off of her.

On a side note, notice anything different? :)
13:13 is due for a facelift. Time to tone things down a bit.
As I mentioned in my last post, we’re pushing back the deadline for our wedding photography giveaway. We’ve had some amazingly inspirational submissions but we’re already booked on their days. We’re extending the deadline to March 1st so please email us if you want details.
- The new look is great and I love visiting your site to see what gorgeous stuff you're creating!!!
- Love the new website look! Also Nylin is a doll, and your cupcakes look delicious :)
- Ashley, these are so cute!
- Amazing! She's so cute! And I loooove the flowers!
- I love her! I think she's got so much spunk and is absolutely adorable.
- Hey Ashley, These pics are gorgeous! You just did my sister Cathy's wedding (I was the MOH) and I cannot wait to see those pictures. Everything you have on here is stunning. Hopefully, I'll be giving you a ring in the near future... Take care =) Kristine
- What wrong with nylin's outfit?!...reminds me of our old branding. ;-)
- The facelift is great - really lets your amazing work be the star!
- Ashley-I really like the "facelift"....looks really good!
- Love Nylin pictures, she is so cute. Miss all of you.
carly + mark {married!}
January 23rd was a day of love, laughter, family, friends, good-food and most importantly a day to celebrate Carly and Mark. This couple (and family) is truly the epitome of love.
The minute we arrived Phillip got a flash-forward moment watching Carly’s dad deal with the meaning of the day. Phillip even asked if there were any notes he could take to be prepared for our daughter’s day. Allen’s (dad) reply was “there are no notes when it comes to this day”. I’m sure dealing with overwhelming happiness and a sense of loss for your little girl is a tough pill to digest… so touching though! And Carly’s mom was such a beautiful example of being a “mom”. You definitely got the sense that she was the “den”mom for all of Carly’s friends. (and now officially OUR south Florida mom!)
As always, I was ecstatic when Carly told me that they decided to see each other prior to the ceremony. The sky was beautifully overcast which provided amazing light throughout the entire day!
Take a look but be warned that this is probably the longest blog post in history… Sorry!

Carly’s mom cut pieces from her wedding dress (and her grandmothers) and fastened them to her bouquet. What a sweet touch!

The Boca Resort.
Check out Mark’s fancy shoes!

The First Look!

THIS is why we love when couples decide to see each other before the ceremony. Priceless.

Seriously?!? How gorgeous is she???

Also, we’re probably going to extend the deadline for our wedding photography giveaway. We’ve received several amazingly inspirational submissions but unfortunately we’re already booked on their dates.
- So beautiful! What a stunning couple and beautiful wedding!
- These pictures are priceless. Congrats again Mark and Carly!
- Ashley and Phillip you guys rock! It was a pleasure to work with you. And most importantly you brought out the true spirit of the day. Thanks! I look forward to our next event.
- You guys were so much fun to work with and these photos are amazing. Didn't think the engagement session could be outdone in terms of "WOW" but you've done it again!
- Amazing as usual... what a beautiful bride. Her dress is gorgeous!
- As Carly's aunt I know that Carly and Mark are a beautiful couple, both inside and out. You truly captured their essence in your artistic photography and having seen you in action, aside from your talent, you were easy going and so pleasant to work with. The photos are amazing!
- I absolutely love them! The pictures are absolutely beautiful!
- Thank you for so beautifully capturing our day - we will cherish these memories, and our new friends so long! You guys were/are incredible!
- Ashley - this wedding is amazing. I feel like you really captured who they are. This makes me so excited for November!
- Amazing, the photos are so special, thank you again!
- I just stumbled onto your site for the first time and I've been just going crazy over all of your photography!! Incredible! You really set the bar high when it comes to wedding photography and I must say I'm incredibly inspired by your work. I just hope to be able to get to this level at some point. Thank you for inspiring. This wedding was AMAZING. -John from Heart Visuals.
julia + andrew {married!}
Andrew and Julia’s big day was the start of our 2010 weddings! They decided to have a first look prior to the ceremony *we’re BIG fans of this!* which allowed us to capture tons of great photos before the sun went down.
They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Ironhorse Country Club in West Palm Beach. Enjoy!

The First Look!

I couldn’t decide which image to post from these so I decided to go with both. :)

- The "first look" is so sweet! What a great moment. The green shawls are so fun. I love the very last set of the couple.
- love em -- the ring shot & groomsmen are rockin!
irene + fern {engaged!}
I had the pleasure of working with Irene a few months ago while shooting a boudoir marathon. I love this girl… She had me cracking up the entire shoot!
Needless to say, I was thrilled when it finally came time to shoot their engagement session. Irene and Fern chose to shoot the 1 week that S. Florida decides to dip into the 30’s… go figure! I actually think we got lucky that day with temps in the 50’s but still, the skies were overcast and it was super windy. After shooting for a few hours we decided to call it a day and schedule a reshoot in hopes of having some bright blue skies and warm weather… not happening! Part DEUX was just as windy and the sun only graced us with it’s presence when we were in transition from 1 location to the next. Regardless of the weather, I love how their pictures turned out. Enjoy!

- Wow these are really fanastic! Irene looks stunning! What a great shoot!
- Irene!!! These look SO GOOD. I'm so excited for you! You guys are awesome :) Amazing work as always Ashley!
- You ROCK, woman!! I've been anxiously awaiting these.. and they did not disappoint! We had sooo much fun shooting these with you and your work is, as always, truly amazing. We cannot wait to catch up with you and Phillip at the wedding! =) Love you!!
annabel + joseph {married!}
I’m FINALLY getting caught up on all of my post-sessions/wedding work! In an effort to stay caught up I’m only blogging about 1/2 the amount of photos I typically would for a wedding. Bare with me… ![]()
This one in particular is long overdue.
Annabel and Joseph experienced some pre-wedding drama due to their venue being shut down (about a week before their wedding) because of an issue with the water filtration system… can you imagine?? I was so impressed with Annabel and her ability to keep calm through the ordeal. To make a long story short, their wedding was moved to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel – not a bad move in my opinion, and was absolutely flawless! She truly looked like a princess!
Annabel and Joseph, thank you both for everything – I can’t wait for your trash-the-dress session!
On a side note, you still have about 2 weeks to submit your entries for winning our wedding photography giveaway. Thank you to all who have already submitted your stories, it’s going to be a tough decision process to select a winner…

We did a mini-fashion shoot after the reception at 1:30am! So fun!

- I love these pics... I must know where the bride got the A & ?? platters for the candy station.. I have been looking everywhere for it!!! Can anyone help?? Thanks :)
- Super hot! I love all the elements inside the reception and the skyline picture STUNNING! The bride and groom are a gorgeous couple!
- hot!
- Your work never ceases to amaze me! Love it Love it Love it!
- The brown theme is so pretty, Ashley you caught the detail in the lighting and monogram so well. Very impressive! Another great job!
- So sweet Joseph's note made me awwwww! Congrats you two! Is that a Tiffany logo that I read on the bottom of the notecard? So sweet!!!
- Wooooooooow! You guys look aaaaaaaaaaaaawesome! I am so happy for the two of you, you deserve all the happiness in the world. The pictures are sooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!
- Gorgeous couple! Awesome awesome pictures I love the one in the church where they are in the aisle kissing, truly spectacular!
- Well, can I say that the chocolate spread is indeed a sight to behold. Great angles and documenting of the day.
rose + eli {engaged!}
I’ve had some incredibly fun, quirky (in a good way) and creative engagement sessions lately! I love it!
Rose and Eli’s session was no exception! We started the shoot in the Las Olas area of Ft. Lauderdale then headed to the Riverfront area to capture some fun train track and parking garage roof-top shots. By the time our session was ending our light was just about non-existent but we managed to capture some super cute shots that really reflect their personalities.
How gorgeous are they??

These crack me up!

- These are amazing. What great engagement photos!
- Ashley, I love these! The ones with the frames reminded me of a series of shots of Jack Nicholson taken by Harry Benson that Amy and I saw at an exhibit last year. Here is the link, if you want to see it. http://www.harrybenson.com/index.php#mi=2&pt=1&pi=10000&s=0&p=4&a=0&at=0
- Great session -- I love the picture frames!

- Ashley these are so cute! What a gorgeous couple. I love the photo frame ones. So cute and fun.
daryl + john {engaged!}
I absolutely love when I get to shoot a session with a concept or theme. Daryl and John have the greatest idea ever for their wedding invitation design! I don’t want to spoil the surprise but I feel that I need to preface this shoot by saying that Daryl and John are book lovers and have decided to incorporate their love for books as one of the elements in their wedding. The invitation theme is boy-meets-girl, boy falls in love with girl and the rest is history. Obviously, they have a much better plan to execute this than what I’ve written and I can’t wait to see it!
I should also mention that they share an affinity for art which is why we chose to shoot part of their session in the Design District in Miami. They did a great job scouting specific locations to help tell their story.
On a side note, despite the freezing cold (35º that morning!!) I thoroughly enjoyed spending my morning with two of the most loving people I’ve ever met! Daryl and John, we can’t wait for your wedding in May!!!

I assume that these next few will be incorporated in the invitation design.

I love love love this one! It makes me giggle every time I look at it. :)

This was such a cute idea too!
