Melinda + Matthew {Encore!}

They’re bayaack … We met Melinda & Matthew at their home to capture them in everyday settings and meander around their adorable West-Philadelphia neighborhood and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. (Where Matthew cleverly proposed to Melinda)

Yes we were so thrilled to shoot a little more with them, but secretly we were just thrilled to be able to hang-out more.  :)

Melinda + Matthew {Re-gift 2011!}

Melinda and Matthew were the winners of our little photography contest hosted by the wonderful blog Postcards and Pretties last year! I wanna say that our motivation for our giveaway is purely goodwill, but I honestly feel like we walk away with so much more than our winners.

There is no way for me to be brief and “get-on” to the pictures plus I haven’t found a succinct list of adjectives that can sum up how I feel about them and their wedding, so I’ll apologize upfront for a wordy, rambly blog post. Here it goes …

Melinda and Matthew were married in the village of Arden, Delaware at Gild Hall. The pureness and authenticity of their day is what stands out in my mind. There was nothing slightly lacking or anything superflous or extra. They tapped the shoulders of their local network of vendors, friends, family, artists and musicians to make their wedding uniquely their own.

They had two bands perform at their wedding. Good Dust performed a super sweet set after the ceremony and  The David Wax museum who is a nationally touring band and doesn’t usually make it a point to perform at weddings. But there is a sweet story to their appearance. The David Wax Museum is the first band Melinda and Matthew saw together as a couple. So Melinda contacted them and I’m sure very sweetly and genuinely requested their presence. (How could they say no, right?)

We are very much in the business of capturing other people’s memories but as we were editing through their wedding I fondly realized that at some point we made some of our own. I could easily rattle-off more amazing personal touches, but if you go to P&P’s you can read Melinda’s account of their wedding day and planning.

Thank you Melinda and Matthew for your kindness, authenticity and grace. Thank you, thank you, thank you … for everything!!

**Please head over to postcards and pretties if you would like to leave a comment. You’ll also find some exciting news about this year’s photography giveaway as well!

p.s. – Thank you Sarah for coming along and making memories!:)

ashley - Thank you Matthew, it was completely our honor and pleasure!!!

Heather - Your wedding was so CLEAN and FRESH!!! I love how everything is so elegant and minimal, so that only the love and nature shines through:) The landscape pictures are dreamy (I want to own that white one;). Just a joy to behold; Congratulations.

Matthew - Words cannot express how grateful we are to have had you as such a special part of our day. The pictures are wonderful, and beautifully capture every moment. This is exactly how we want to remember our wedding, and thanks to you we will have that pleasure for years to come.

Best always,
Matthew & Melinda

Lindsay + Josh {married!}

Lindsay and Josh had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the courtyard of the elegant Mirasol Country Club in West Palm Beach. They had one of those endearing, unscripted, “perfectly-imperfect” moments, when a pop-up shower invited itself to show-up just as Lindsay was to walk down the aisle. It was such a beautiful moment to see everyone huddled in the atrium under their chuppah … all smiles and in good spirits. It was a short shower and Lindsay gracefully walked down the aisle to meet Josh and the rest of the night unfolded perfectly as planned!
